Obituary of "Moon" Collins

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gerald Douglas “Moon” Collins on June 16, 2024 at the age of 82. Cherished brother of Dave (Blanche) Collins and Jack Collins. Proud uncle of Paul, Gary (Karen), Barry, Brenda (Kevin) and Linda (Rob). Predeceased by his parents Murray and Ellen Collins and Sister Shirley (Doug) Williams and niece’s Carol Williams, Debra Young and Nephews Randy Williams and Greg Williams. Survived by his many great nieces and nephews. Moon will be fondly remembered by his friend Marysa Snider and the horse racing community. 

Doug was a very avid bowler and always enjoyed playing a game of euchre. He loved to cheer on the Toronto Maple Leaf’s and Blue Jays. Doug could always be found at the Horse racing track, either spending time with friends watching a race or working with the horses. Horses were his true passion. Doug enjoyed attending family celebrations, spending time with his family and friends.

A Celebration of life will take place on August 10^th, 2024 from 1-4pm with words shared at 3:00pm at the Ailsa Craig Recreation Centre. A private interment will take place at Mars Hill Cemetery.
