Beverley “Bev” Gale
Surrounded by love on March 20th, 2025, Beverley “Bev” Ray Gale passed away at the age of 91. Survived by his loving wife Barbara Gale for 57 cherished years. Proud father of Andrew (Carrie) and Laura (Matt). Papa of Rosemary Gale, Madelyn and Hannah McIntosh, Griffin Kerfoot, Lily and Hannah Hendershott. Predeceased by his siblings George Gale and Shirley Houghton.
Bev worked as a teacher for 36 years, retiring at the age of 55. with his specialties being English and History. As a lifelong learner, he also completed his Master’s In Education at the University of BC, for which he traveled to the west coast with Barbara, Andrew and Bacchus (the family golden retriever). He also completed a paper on the incarceration system in Toronto with the head of The Don Jail. During his retirement, Bev enjoyed taking caning, cooking and French classes, working as a historian in a pioneer home in Toronto, and being a hat model for Tilley Endurables.
One of his favourite hobbies was curling, which is how he met his wife Barbara. He curled for over 60 years and was astute at hitting the house just at the right time.
Bev was a family man at heart. He adored spending time with his loved ones creating many cherished memories, through travel, laughter and togetherness.
He sang in The Men Teachers choir, and continued singing his way through life in Tillsonburg .
A private family graveside service will be held at Carlisle Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be held later in the spring.
