Obituary of Marilyn Theresa Johnson
Marilyn Johnson Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Marilyn Theresa Johnson, age 93, of Parkhill, Ontario. Marilyn passed away on May 7th, 2025, following a brief illness at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital.
A simple obituary cannot fully encapsulate Marilyn’s life, but it serves as a tribute to a woman who was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. Marilyn’s life story is a vivid picture of her dedication and service to family, leaving others inspired by her love for her family, her caring and her personal kindness.
The daughter of John and Catharine Johnson of North Middlesex, Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, her sister Mary Catharine Reynolds (nee Johnson) her brothers Allen Johnson, Dr Ronald Johnson, Dr James (Bud) Johnson, and John Francis (Jack) Johnson. Marilyn was also preceded in death by her nieces Andrea Johnson, Tania Crawford (nee Johnson), Christine Wanamaker (nee Johnson) and her nephew Brent Johnson.
Left behind to celebrate Marilyn’s life and legacy are her brothers, Father Ted Johnson of Toronto, and Paul Johnson (Sally) of Grand Bend and her sister-in-law Mary Johnson. She was loved and will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces and great grandnephews.
After completing her education, Marilyn left Parkhill and began her career with CFPL Television in London, Ontario, then later moved to Toronto where she worked for Bell Canada Yellow Pages for many years before retiring and returning to the family farm in Sylvan, where she dedicated herself to caring for her aging parents, so they could remain at home in their later years. Marilyn remained at the farm for the rest of her life, until the last year, which was spent at Brookside Retirement Living in Watford, Ontario.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at Sacred Heart Church in Parkhill, Ontario, Monday, May 12th at 11:00a.m. followed by internment in the Bornish Catholic Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital and Brookside Retirement Living for their kindness, caring and support of Marilyn.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital in Marilyn’s memory.
