It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Andre Godts on January 28th, 2026, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Magda Godts (VanMassenhoven) for 63 cherished years. Loving father of Betty (Bruce) Thomson, Marcel (Debbie) Godts, and Michael (Christine) Godts. Proud Papa of Brian (Elena), Shaun (Melanie), Amanda (Chad), Steven (Ali), Laura, Emily (Michael), Mark, Rachel, Kurtis (Mackenzie), Megan, Ethan, and Brendan. Cherished Papa of 18 great-grandchildren.

Survived by his sister Maria (Clement) and his sister-in-law Magda. Also survived by his brother-in-law Joe (Carol).
Predeceased by his brother Marcel.
Also predeceased by his siblings-in-law Mary (Ken), Cornell (Adrianna), Lucy (Jim), Gus (Cora), and Frans (Ingrid).

Andre is survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Andre immigrated to Canada at the young age of 18. He was a hardworking man with various jobs throughout his younger years. His career ended in farming, which was his lifelong dream. Andre built a successful business working alongside his sons, Marcel and Michael. He loved his family more than anything and will be truly missed by all.

Andre’s family wishes to extend their gratitude and thanks to all of the kind and caring staff at LHSC–University Hospital (7^th Floor).

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Denning’s of Parkhill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Parkhill. Interment to follow at Parkhill Cemetery, Parkhill.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and to the Craigwiel Gardens – Adult Day Program.
