Obituary of Roger William Campbell

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Roger "Charlie" William Campbell announces his peaceful passing, in his 61st year, on March 28, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Roger peacefully joins his late father Ray Campbell (2007), and late mother Verlyn Campbell (2018), together with the Lord. Survived by his devoted brother Robert Campbell and life partner Linda Wein of Ailsa Craig. Dear Uncle to Jim Wein (Crystal Boyle), Cheryl (Regan) Hopkins, and LeRoy "Bud" (Terri-Lyn) Wein. Great-uncle to Riley, Hailey, Abbie, Angelica, Lincoln, and Asher. Roger will be sadly missed by his aunts Marg, Pat and Florence, along with many cousins, extended family, friends and neighbours. Roger's life was woven with threads of music and farmstead memories. Born and raised on the family farm, he learned the rhythms of life amidst cattle and horses. It was on those grounds that he discovered his love for music, initially tapping out beats on pails before graduating to drums. By the young age of 14, he was already rocking stages with his band, sharing his passion with anyone who would listen. Roger dedicated two decades of his life as a machine operator at Centroy Assembly from 1987 to 2007. Despite his professional commitments, he found solace in maintaining the farm property and indulging in his passion for fixing things. His vehicle's backseat was a testament to his organized chaos of tools, a reflection of his hands-on approach to life. Beyond the confines of work and the farm, Roger cherished moments of camaraderie through camping trips and roller-skating escapades with friends, creating cherished memories along the way. Known for his independent spirit, Roger lived life on his own terms, pursuing activities that brought him joy. Although he was a man of few words, if he had something to share of significance and importance to him then he did. Though he has bid farewell to this earthly realm, his melodies will continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Sprucedale Care Center, especially Dr. Marshall, for their unwavering care and support during Roger's time there. They are also grateful for the dedicated care team at L.H.S.C Dialysis Unit. Special thanks are reserved for Jacqui Moraal, whose presence and support brought comfort to Roger during his challenging moments. They also express deep appreciation to Roger's dear friend "Jim" for his companionship during Roger's stay at Sprucedale Care Center. Lastly, the family appreciates the outpouring of support from relatives, neighbours, and friends, acknowledging the strength found in their calls and messages through this difficult time.

As per Roger's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at Nairn Cemetery. A Celebration of Life and reception will be held on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, from 1pm-4pm, with words shared at 2p.m., at Denning’s of Ailsa Craig, where family and friends can come together to honor and remember Roger's life.
