Obituary of Elizabeth Kormendi

The family announces with sorrow the death of Elizabeth Kormendi (nee Toricht) at Sprucedale Care Center Strathroy on Saturday August 11, 2012. She was in her 93rd year. Wife of the late John ( 1979 ). Loved Mother of John and Carmene Kormendi of Mount Brydges and Ernie and Sharon Kormendi of London. She is survived by sisters Kate Mitchell and Esther Walker. Predeceased by sister Mary and brother Henry. Proud grandmother of John (Sandy) Kormendi, Patti (Rick) Laughton, Michelle (Tim) Hart, Tammy ( Ross) Farquhar, Joe (Jennifer) Kormendi and Rosemary Kormendi ( predeceased 1968). Elizabeth delighted in her eleven great grandchildren- Kyle, Carley & Josh Laughton, Aleshia & John Kormendi, Brendan & Connor Hart, Jordyn & Jillian Kormendi, Mathew Gencius & Andrew Farquhar. Born in Hungary Elizabeth and John spent most of their lives in the Mount Brydges area and were tobacco farmers. Her family was her pride and joy, the most important thing in her life. In her later years she lived at Brookside Retirement in Watford and the last year at Sprucedale Care Center. The family wishes to thank staff from both places for the excellent care she received. She is resting at Denning Bros. Funeral Home in Strathroy where visitation will be held on Thursday August 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday August 17 at 11 am.
