Obituary of Grace Hoek

"Praise the Lord O my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name." (Psalm 103:1). On Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, with her family by her side, Grace was taken home to be with her Lord and Saviour in her 73rd year. Loving wife of the late Gerry van der Hoek for 50 years. Devoted mother of the late Sylvia (Ken) Hammer, Greta van der Hoek, and Wilma (Peter) Overgaauw. Grace will be missed and forever cherished by grandchildren Gerry Rosilius, Brianna Hammer, and Sam, Nick, and Sydney Overgaauw. Grace's commitment and hard work in crafting clothing and blankets for various orphanages in the Ukraine remains an inspiration for all of us to serve our neighbours. Friends will be received at Providence United Reformed Church, 447 Second Street, Strathroy on Monday, April 2 from 2 - 4 PM and 7 - 9 PM. A funeral service will be held at the church on Tuesday, April 3 at 1PM with Pastor Harry Zekveld officiating. Donations may be directed to the "Providence United Reformed Church Women Volunteer Circle" at Providence United Reformed Church to continue her work in the Ukraine.
