Obituary of Louis Acs

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful man, Louis Acs of Strathroy on January 25, 2012 at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital at the age of 79. Louis is survived by a much loved son Louis Acs Jr. (Aniko) of Edmonton. Dear grandfather of Michelle, Darrelle and Nicole. Missed by his loving friend Mary Hessler and her family David (Lynn), Robert (Christina) and Christopher Hessler, and adoring papa to Jeffrey. Louis is also survived by his sister Klara (Joe) and sister-in-law Ili, nephews, nieces in Hungary, cousins in the USA and a special friend Edith. Predeceased by his parents and two brothers in Hungary. Louis immigrated to Canada in 1956, eager to make a new life and take on challenges. He worked in Hamilton while trying to master the English language. Louis was not afraid of hard work or long hours, working on the pipeline in Kenora and Drydon, surviving the harsh winters in his new homeland. He eventually ended up in Strathroy where he worked at a job he loved for 38 years at Streamline Copper and Brass, 28 years as plant supervisor, until his retirement. Louis loved the VON day program where he met many new friends. Visitation will be held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy on Sunday from 1-2 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Ostrander Funeral Home, Tillsonburg on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 2 p.m.with Father Tom Ferrera. Visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow in Tillsonburg Cemetery. In memory of Louis, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, VON Middlesex or charity of choice.
