Obituary of Stuart May
F/L Stuart Newton May (Ret), Born - August 6, 1921(Guelph, Ontario) - Died - December 31, 2011 (Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy, Ontario). Grew up in Weston Ontario and attended Weston Colligate. Signed up with RCAF in 1939 and trained at Aylmer and Borden and soon became an instructor on Mosquito Fighter Plane then posted to 418 Mos Squadron where he became an Ace. In 1944 he was shot down over Czechoslovakia and was helped by partisans and spent months in the mountains. After the war he married Aileen Louise Scott. Lifelong entrepreneur, owning Weston Insurance & Real Estate. Returned to London and Strathroy. Predeceased by mother Irene, stepfather Jack Miles and wonderful wife Aileen "Bubs" 2003. Survived by daughter Mary Louise "Lou" (Larry) Richardson of Strathroy and son John (Faye) May of Etobicoke. Dear grandfather of Cameron (Anna) Newell, Colin (Christie) Newell, Scott May, Gillian May and great-grandchildren Kian, Matthew and Connor all of whom adored their "granddad". As per Dad's request cremation has taken place and the interment will be held in the spring at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery - Veterans Columbarium. Many thanks to the amazing staff at Strathmere Lodge.
