Obituary of Geurt Kroesbergen

On Thursday September 9, 2010, Peacefully with his family at his side. Geurt Kroesbergen in his 81st year went to be with his Lord and Saviour. Born in the Netherlands, Geurt immigrated to Canada in 1950 and lived and farmed near Ailsa Craig and recently retired to Strathroy. Beloved husband of Ida (VanderHeide) Kroesbergen for 57 years and Dear father of Jerry (Sharon); Fred (Dorothy); Tom (Marcia); Bill (Jane); Dorothy (Adrian) Salverda; Rita (John) DeVries; John (Christine); Trudy (Dave) Rintjema and Marvin (Josephine). Geurt has 40 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and is also survived by 5 sisters in Netherlands. Predeceased by his grandchildren, Krista Marie Kroesbergen and Gerald Geoffrey Kroesbergen and 2 brothers in Holland and a sister in Canada. Visitation will be held at the East Christian Reformed Church, 476 Metcalfe St E Strathroy on Sunday September 12, 2010 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm where funeral service will be held on Monday September 13, 2010 at 11:00 am with Pastor Walt DeRuiter officiating. Interment, Strathroy Cemetery.
