Obituary of Roy Meggett

Surrounded by his loving family at University Hospital on Sunday, April 11, 2010 Roy Winston Meggett passed away in his 70th year. Beloved husband of Marlene Meggett (Hotson). Loving father of Edward Meggett (Heidi), Sandra Gauthier (Claude) and Arthur Meggett. Cherished grandfather of Kevin Gauthier (Ami Tonelli) and Thomas Winston Gauthier. Much loved son of Gladys Meggett. Predeceased by his father Roy A. Meggett (2010) and his brother Cyril (1993). He will be sadly missed by his sister Hilda Spring (Ralph), sister-in-law Ann Marie Meggett, Donna Hindmarsh and Elaine McNair (Dennis Rempel) and several nieces and nephews. Roy retired from CNR in 1995 after 30 years of service. In keeping with Roy's wishes, cremation has taken place. Private family interment in the family plot at Carlisle Cemetery. In celebration of Roy's life. a Memorial service will be held at T. Stephenson & Son Funeral Home, 171 Main Street Ailsa Craig, on Saturday April 17, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Chaplain Maureen Dwyer officiating. Visitation 1 hour prior to service. Donations in memory of Roy can be made to the Canadian Lung Association or charity of choice.
