Obituary of William Gillan

Gillan, William (Bill) - On Wednesday, June 3, 2009 William B. Gillan of Strathroy in his 85th year, passed away at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital. Beloved husband of Gladys (Jones) Gillan and dear father of Ruth Ann and Andy Van Bynen, John and Marg Gillan, Nancy and Paul Gorman, Ron and Karen Gillan, Susan Gillan and Denver Grant and Bill and Becky Gillan all of Strathroy. Bill is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, sister, Sandra Squires of London, brother, Dave Gillan of Bothwell, brother-in-law, Lorne Jones of Strathroy and sister-in-law, Dorothy Jones of Toronto and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his baby daughter Catherine (1957), parents, John and Edith Gillan, sister, Eileen Harnett, brothers, John, Gerald, Ralph and Fred Gillan. Visitation will be held at DENNING BROS. FUNERAL HOME LTD. STRATHROY on Sunday June 7th, 2009 from 2:00 pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm where funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday June 8, 2009 at 11:00am with Rev. Charles Seed officiating. Interment Strathroy Cemetery. Donations to a charity of your choice. A Legion memorial service will be held on Sunday at 6:30pm under the direction of Sir Arthur Currie Branch Strathroy.
