Marion and the Courtis family,
We were saddened to learn of Don’s passing. Please accept our sincere condolences.
Don was one of the ball coaches that I had in the early seventies, and he made a lasting impact on myself as well as many others. His passing has brought back many fond memories of time spent at the ball park. I will always remember Don for his infectious smile. During this time of grief, may your family find comfort in your happy memories as well.

My deepest and sincere condolences to Marion (Grandma), Donna and Monte, Michelle and the entire family for the great loss we all feel of Don or (Grandpa). He was the most beautiful example of what a human being should be. This was a man who loved life to the fullest in every breath he took and never wasted a moment to be with family or friends when the opportunity presented itself. He gave his life to enriching lives by coaching in sports, raising his children, working hard each day and watching his grandbabies grow. He loved his time cheering them on in hockey and missing a game was never an option. He enjoyed every moment making memories and his bright smile was the evidence everyone could plainly see. His passion for woodworking was his trademark, his stamp to a handcrafted love. He always spoke in a soft and gentle voice that always grabbed your attention whether you knew him or not. He drew you to him with who he was not what he was and always took the time to ask, how are you? He will be missed by all and his enduring love will keep everyone strong, knowing his passion for family lives on as his legacy.
My thoughts and prayers to everyone.

I got to know Don and his family when I moved here to the Poplar Hill area in 1994. Don and Gerald were our baseball coaches. We shared man good times on the ball field with lot of laughs. It was nice to catch up with them later on at their garage sales in Greenway. Don was kind and patient and wonderful person. My deepest sympathies to the entire Courtis family
