Obituary of Tjeerd Reitsma

( November 6, 1922 - December 3, 2008), After a brief illness, on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, Tom went peacefully to be with his Lord. Tjeerd was the loving husband of Thelma (Witvoet) for 30 years. He was predeceased by his first wife Johanna (denBok) for 32 years (1977). Dad was father to Bob and Helen, Helen (predeceased 2003) and Syd, Ynze, Bette and Henry, Marge and Harry and Wilma Joy. He was Opa to many grandchildren and great grandchildren, also a brother-in-law and uncle to the denBok, Reitsma and Witvoet families. Tom was an active member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, Hamilton for 40 years and member of Westmount Christian Reformed Church, Strathroy for 10 years. Tom was trained as a landscape architect and gardener; he retired from McMaster University as Grounds Supervisor in 1984. Friends will be received at Westmount Christian Reformed Church, 405 Drury Lane, Strathroy on Sunday, December 7, 2008 from 1-3 and 7-9 pm where a funeral service will be held on Monday, December 8 at 10:00 am with Pastor John Koole officiating. Interment to take place in Woodland Cemetery, Burlington at 3:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, Hamilton following the Interment.
