Obituary of Nellie Caris

Peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Strathmere Lodge in Strathroy, Nellie Caris (nee Berkvens) in her 93rd year. Loving wife of the late Henry Caris (2001). Loving mother of Mary and John Lamers of Ingersoll, Gertie and Martin Relou of Mt. Brydges, Rickie and Henk Peeters of London, Jack and Rose Caris of Strathroy, Thea and Marty Stokkermans of Grand Bend, Jackie and Cliff Ryan of Arkona, Annie and Hank Baltessen of Grand Bend, Nelly and Lambert Baltessen of Grand Bend and Henry and Tammy Caris of London. Survived by 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Mary Van Loon of Thamesford, two sisters and three brothers in Holland. Pre-deceased by infant son Matthew (1947) and infant daughter Matthea (1953) and her granddaughter Laura Stokkermans (1997). Friends will be received at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, 32 Metcalfe St. W., Strathroy on Sunday, October 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers will be said at the funeral home on Sunday at 1:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Roman Catholic Church on Monday, October 20th at 11:00 am with with Fr. Lucio Couto officiating. Private family interment to follow in All Saints Roman Catholic Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Strathroy-Middlesex General Hospital Foundation or to the Memorial Fund of the Strathmere Lodge Auxiliary.
