Obituary of Eileen Woods

Eileen Woods, born in Kerwood, Ontario, October 20, 1918, died peacefully in the early hours of August 31, 2008. Eileen attended Watford High School and Victoria Hospital School of Nursing (1941). She worked in the Emergency Department of the hospital until her marriage to Fred in 1946. Eileen and Fred were partners in Woods General Store, Kerwood until Fred's passing in 1979. Eileen also attended to the nursing needs of the community on many occasions. She an their son Joe continued to operate the business together until Eileen's health failed in the past year. Survived by and deeply loved by her children, Joe (Sue) Woods and Pat (Brian) Peters, granddaughters Heather, Kelly, Pam and Brandi and eleven great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters Verna Watson and Beverly Armstrong and many nieces and nephews and their families. Visitation will be held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy on Wednesday, September 3 from 6-9 PM where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 4 at 1:30 PM with Rev. Tom Anderson officiating. Interment in Strathroy Cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Shriner's Hospitals for Children or charity of choice would be appreciated.
