Celebration of Life
Obituary of Murray James McLean
It is with a deep sense of loss and sorrow that the family announces the peaceful passing of Murray McLean on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the age of 78, after a brief illness. Murray (Gus) will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed by his wife and best friend, Ann (nee Donaldson), his sons Jason (Tara), Bradley (Janet), and his special step granddaughter Britain. Also loved and missed greatly by his sister Marion Kunder (Donald, 2005, and Bernie, 2024), his brother Peter (Laura), sisters-in-law, Shirley McCall (Bob), and Joan Hutton (Maurice), his nephews and nieces, and extended family and friends. Murray was predeceased by his parents Irene and Angus, his brother Allan, and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Betty and Bev Robb.
Agriculture and insurance both played important roles in Murray’s life; however, his passion was for all aspects of the auction world. No matter where life took Murray, he was most inspired by the people he met and the stories he was able to share.
Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family from 1pm-4pm on Saturday, January 11, 2025, with words of remembrance at 2pm, at The Ailsa Craig Recreation Centre, 155 Annie Ada Shipley St., Ailsa Craig, for a Celebration of Life. All are welcome.
Donations in Murray’s name may be made to the VerspeetenCancer Clinic, Canadian Cancer Society, or Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation.
