Obituary of Aafke Bruinsma

Peacefully surrounded by her children at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Wednesday, April 12, 2006, Aafke (Alice) Bruinsma in her 86th year went to be with her lord. Beloved wife for 59 years of the late Thys Bruinsma (February 2002). Left to cherish her memory are her children Barbara & Art Bax of Strathroy, Lucy Bun Wright of Horsefly B.C., Siebe and Kathy Bruinsma of Tupperville and Hilda & Jack Orange of Horsefly, B.C. Special "Beppe" to 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Jacob Ploegstra and Meinke Anema. Predeceased by her sister Hittje and her brother Sijmon all of The Netherlands. Also survived by numerous brothers and sisters-in law as well as nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at the Westmount Christian Reformed Church, 405 Drury Lane, Strathroy on Friday, April 14, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A service of worship celebrating her life will be held at the church on Saturday, April 15 at 1 pm with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment to follow at Strathroy Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
