Obituary of Mac Smithrim

At Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Wednesday, June 8th. Mac Smithrim in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Olivia Mary Smithrim (Dempster)(Pental). Predeceased by wife Margaret Smithrim (Sumner)(1994). Dear father to Gary (Elaine) of Belleville and Gayle (Bill) Herrington of Gravenhurst. Will be remembered by grandchildren Karen (Joe) Paszternak, Bryan (Bonnie) Smithrim, Mary Lou Smithrim, Darryl (Christine) Smithrim, Debbie (Doug) Ragan and Diana Herrington. Great grandchildren Tiffany and Amy Paszternak, Oliver and Georgia Smithrim and Ashly Kenny. Survived by sister Viola Paisley. Predeceased by sisters Marguerite McIntyre, Olive Brown and Evelyn Gortzen. Brother in Law of Evelyn and Evan Stead, Frances Sumner, Marion Davis and John Sumner. Many nieces and nephews. Mac was a longtime and dedicated member of the Odd Fellows. Past president of the Middlesex Federation of Agriculture and past member of the Hospital Board and the Cemetery Board. Proud volunteer of the VON. Visitation will be held at the Denning Bros. Funeral Home in Strathroy on Friday, June 10th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will take place in the chapel on Saturday, June 11th at 11am with Rev. Jock Tolmay officiating. Interment to follow at Strathroy Cemetery.
