Obituary of Samuel Oke

Peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, Samuel Charles Kenneth Oke formerly of Alvinston, in his 88th year. Predeceased by his wife Lydia (Spencer), his parents Darwin and Margaret Oke (McLean), his sisters Margaret and Catherine, brothers Malcolm, Clarence, Donald, Russell and a sibling in infancy, as well as his niece Laura. Samuel is survived by his brother Gordon (Evelyn) Oke and several nieces and nephews. Dearly missed by Lydia's daughter Joan Diller, her children Lydia Jane Baird and John M. Diller and Lydia's grandchildren Joan and Martin Baird, and Lindsay and Ashley Diller. Samuel is sadly missed by his special friends Lillian Peterson, Paul and Leonore Woodcock and their three daughters Jennifer and Andrew Comello, Jessica and Mike Thornton (Xander, Scarlett and Brielle) and Jaclynn Woodcock, and Larry Peterson and Kathy Clarke. Visitation will be held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy on Friday from 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Hawkins officiating. Interment to follow in Alvinston Cemetery. In memory of Samuel, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
