My association with Debbie was through family and friends. I knew her as a petite and cute woman who looked much younger than her years. She was a quiet soul, or at least that is how she came across, but always had a smile when one crossed paths with her. The day of Debbie's memorial service it was also my birthday. I was sitting there in the church and thinking, how can one forget this heartbreaking day, where a husband has lost his partner, children and grandchildren have lost their mother/grandmother and families and friends have lost a dear companion. So, I will never forget Debbie or this day when the Good Lord decided it was time for her to go back to her "Special Home". Rest in peace my dear Debbie and God give comfort to Charlie, Linda, Pam and Anna and all other family and friends. God Bless us, everyone!

The first time I met Debbie was when I was starting grade 2. I got on the school bus and a little girl was sitting in the seat behind the bus driver.(that's were I always sat). I remember the driver introducing us and saying something about how we lived just down the road from each other. Maybe we could become friends. We just looked at each other and said nothing. some time later, maybe a couple months or so. that same little Girl(Debbie) road her bike up our drive way and asked if I wanted to go out and play. Well, that was the start of a life long friendship. Deb and I did everything together from that point on, I loved going to her house cause she had all the cool toys. Like the dress up clothes and the nice dolls, as we got older we gave up on the dolls and started enjoying the company of boys. Deb and I got into a lot of trouble together, for instance we would wait till her mom and dad were asleep then sneak out her bedroom window and slide down the antenna poll. It was great, how ever trying to climb the same poll to get back into the house proved to be a challenge. after we both got married and started our familys we still did lots together. we would have BBQ, go shopping, have coffee, and supported each other through the good and the bad times. we even tried to learn to speak Portuguese together with the help of debs sister in law, Mary. Deb and I lost touch for a few years after I remarried but just last year we reconnected and had coffee together in Strathroy. face book can be a great thing, we talked on the comp and the friendship was still there. My heart is broken from this news of Debbie.Growing up we shared so much together and I only wished she had shared how she was feeling now with me.
I pray the Lord takes you in his arms and protects you Debbie. Say hi to your Mom and Dad for me when you see them in heaven. I love you and will miss you so much. You will always me in my heart. Rest in Peace.
Charley, Linda, Anna and Pam. I pray the lord walks beside you and helps you all, through this troubling time. If you need anything please call.
Love Susan Martin

When I noticed that there were no stories written yet, I just had to write something down. My husband and I married two years before Charlie and Deb. Two of our children are only one day apart in birthdays. We raised our children together. We experienced all the joys and hardships that the vocation of motherhood encompasses. I will miss sitting with her having a coffee, laughing with her and sharing meals together with family. One memory I have is when my husband and I and Charlie and Deb went away for a weekend to Midland. It was a spontaneous trip, we didn't know where we were going to stay overnight and eventually found a bed and breakfast. We had the most amazing fun time there. We went out for dinner at a restaurant near the water and we laughed and laughed while having good food and drinks on the patio outside. I always wanted to go back and do it again but I thought it could never be the same amazing experience, so I never suggested it. There are so many memories just like this one and not enough space to write them down, the only space that they will be written in forever is my heart.
Your loving sister (in-law)
Mary
