Peacefully, on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, the day after his 92nd birthday, surrounded by all his family, at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital. Pre-deceased by his devoted wife Maria Lurdes DaPonte on May 10, 2011. Beloved father of John Manuel (Diane) and Maria Fatima and Fernando Carreiro. Cherished Vavo (grandpa) of Catherine (Brian) Pacheco, Paul (Pamela) Carreiro, Brenda DaPonte, Michael (Donna) Carreiro and David (Tami) DaPonte. Precious Avozinho (great-grandpa) to Sophia, Joshua and Gabriel Carreiro and Jaxon DaPonte. Dear brother of Adelino (Alzira) DaPonte of Strathroy, Hirondina (the late Antero) Carvalho of The Azores, Portugal, brother-in-law of Modesta (the late Serafim) DaPonte, Strathroy, and Eva (the late Joao) DaPonte, The Azores, Portugal. Lovingly remembered by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Manuel and Urselina De Melo, Winnipeg, Angelina and Manuel Viveiros,Winnipeg, Conceicao and Jose Carvalho, Brazil, and Jose and Ana de Sousa Melo, Brazil. Visitation will be held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy, on Thursday, May 9, from 2- 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. with Vigil prayers at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at All Saints Church, Strathroy, on Friday, May 10 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr.
