Antonio Goulart Bettencourt of Strathroy, ON, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on July 13, 2013, in his 85th year at home surrounded by family. Loving husband of 60 years to Maria Estella Bettencourt. Born in Sao Joao, Pico Azores. Cherished father of Maria (Ray) McChesney and Tony (Sylvia) Bettencourt. Predeceased by son Manual Bettencourt and daughter Connie Da Fonseca. Adored grandfather of Lynn- Marie (Walter) Melo, Christopher (Colleen) Overbeek, Deon Da Fonseca, Carl (Liz) Overbeek, Amy Da Fonseca and Kayla, Justin, Anthony and Joise- Lynn Bettencourt. Loving great-grandfather of Dylan and Zachary Melo, Zara Da Fonseca. Leah Da Fonseca and Ava- Leigh Overbeek. Adored brother of Maria Paula. Brother-in-law of Manual and Maria Tomas, Antonio and Fernanda Tomas. Also survived by brothers and sister-in-laws in Azores and many nieces and nephews. Beloved God father of Diane Mavers. Friends will be received at DENNING BROS. FUNERAL HOME, Strathroy, on Monday, July 15th from 5-9p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 124 Front St. E, Strathroy, on Tuesday July 16th, at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Lucio Couto officiating. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Children's Wish Foundation, Parkinson Society or Strathmere Lodge Auxiliary.
