Obituary of James Scarborough
Peacefully at Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy on Sunday, December 8, 2013, James Albert "Bert" Scarborough of Ilderton, passed away in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Connie (Bonnell) and the late Beverley (Gilbert) (1970). Loving father of Lynn Fortner (Charles) of Denfield, Glenn Scarborough (Ellyn) of Ilderton, Donna Scarborough (Carl Joyce) of Ilderton, Diane MacMillan (late Don) of London, and Karen Dube (Neil) of Ilderton. Cherished grandfather of Michelle, Allan, Meredith; Thomas and Beth; Ashley; Christina and Colin. Dear brother-in-law of Nancy Scarborough, Bernice Taylor, Carol Jacklin (Gord), and Marilyn Bonnell. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Nellie Scarborough, granddaughter Kim Lausch, siblings Ila Webster (Doug) and Keith Scarborough, Also predeceased by his siblings-in-law Robert Bonnell, Morris Taylor, Murray Gilbert (Marie), Ross Gilbert, and Dorothy Martin. He will be sadly missed by extended family and friends. Bert was a Royal Canadian Air force WWII veteran, a founding member of the Ilderton Fire Department where he served as Fire Chief for 17 years. Visitation will be held at T. Stephenson & Son Funeral Home, Ailsa Craig on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Littlewood Cemetery. In memory of Bert, donations may be made to the Strathmere Lodge Auxillary or the Ilderton Fire Department.
