Obituary of Shirley McAlpine

Peacefully surrounded by her family at Craigwiel Gardens in Ailsa Craig, on Wednesday May 7, 2014, Shirley Marguerite McAlpine (Eagleson) passed away in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Gordon McAlpine (2000) Loving mother of Don and Marg McAlpine, the late Wayne (2005) and Anna McAlpine, Jim and Liz McAlpine, Joan and Mike Battram, and John and Barb McAlpine. Cherished grandmother of Bonnie (Chris), Joanne (Paul), Sandi (Ian), June (Andre), Daryl (Cathy), Scott (Tina), Steven (Michelle), Shawn (Melinda), Chrissy (Kevin), Ashley (Joel), Brent (Pam), Sarah (Brandon) and Daryn (Nicole). Proud great-grandma of 19 great grandchildren. Dear sister-in-law of Eloise Eagleson. Predeceased by her parents James and Eliza Eagleson (Hodgins) as well as her siblings Viola Atkinson (Charlie), Bob (Annie), Harvey (Shirley), James (Doris), Jack, Willis and Stan Eagleson. Predeceased by her in-laws Enid (Langford) Morgan, Irwin (Dorothy) McAlpine and Helen (Ernie) Haskett. Shirley will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held at T. Stephenson & Son Funeral Home, 171 Main St, Ailsa Craig, on Friday from 6-9 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Ailsa Craig Community Centre, 155 Annie Ada Shipley Street, Ailsa Craig from 11:30a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 1p.m. Private interment in Nairn Cemetery. In memory of Shirley, donations may be made to the Ailsa Craig United Church or the Craigwiel Gardens Nursing Home.
