Here's a prayer from Big Jim of the Baker Street Gang. It feels like a million years since we were playing guns in Duckworth's backyard with your brother, my sisters, the Tongs, the Munros and the Schultzes. God bless you.

I have fond memories of Dougal during my years at Fanshawe college studying in the audiovisual program. I remember the parties in his parents' home in old South. I remember him always wearing the same buffalo sabers Jersey. I contacted him when I moved back from Alberta but lost touch in recent years. So sorry to hear he has passed. My condolences to his family.

I first met Dougal when he worked at Fanshawe College. We quickly connected through our similar interests in sports and Fanshawe activities, among them the staff baseball league and many years of sports pools. Dougal lived for every moment he was in,wherever he was, whoever he was with, it was fun,and yes full of stories. Dougal never wavered in his life-long loyalty to his teams, the Dolphins, the Tigers and the Sabres, but it was his life-long loyalty to friends that I will remember most.
Dougal, I will miss many things, in particular our long phone chats, which you always ended with "give a kiss and some love to Shelley and Hilary....and a little bit of love for you too buddy". I always knew that was coming. Well my friend, right back at you from the 3 of us. We will miss much, but will always remember. Until we meet again buddy....

Doog was a big part of the neighbourhood growing up around Tecumseh/ South schools. He was always there when we needed players for any game - hockey, baseball, football or basketball. We could always count on him to keep the games friendly and civil but still competing until the very end. RIP Doog.

I was so saddened in my spirit at the passing of Dougal. Many a conversation and hours were spent when I went into the home to visit my husband. He was always cordial, polite beyond belief, and had a great sense of humour. He was so knowledgeable on many subjects and would engage in lively conversation. It was a privilege to know him.

Dougal was my first ever baseball coach back at Tecumseh Public School. From that moment on we bonded and formed a life long friendship.
Sports was our common bond that gave us years of sandlot ball and road hockey and football.
After a game we always headed to one of our houses to reminisce over a bowl of chips and glass of coke. He sure loved his coke and chips.
I'll never forget your laugh and your smile you always had. As the years went by and I had moved 3 hours away, you always kept contact with a phone call. You always asked how my kids were doing and told me to pass on your regards to them. I'll never forget that. There's a lot of things I will never forget about you, my friend Dougal. The most important one being the size of your heart. One day we will meet again buddy so keep that ball glove on because I'm gonna hit another home run off my southpaw friend. Rest in peace and comfort my good friend.

I met Dougal when he was a student at Fanshawe and maintained a friendship ever since. We met often for lunch and each year for Christmas dinner when he was in Lucan and later Ailsa Craig and each and every time, it was a battle for the unofficial sports trivia champion of the day. Dougal had an amazing mind for sports and in particular for his Sabres and his idol Dick Duff. I will miss his phone calls and his friendship. I'm sure he is on his way to a new game now.

On behalf of myself and my fellow coworkers at Craigwiel, I'd like to extend my deepest condolences to Dougal's family.
Dougal was so full of knowledge and experience, it was always a pleasure having conversation with him. Dougal was always polite and made it known how greatful he was to be at Craigwiel. I was extremely saddened to hear of his passing.
Sleep in the sweetest peace my friend. Xxxx
