Elgin was a great man. He worked on the farm and had a fantastic array of tools that he used for all manners of wood work. He did a world of work for the Church. Elgin was a giant in the farming community, chiefly because he treated others with love. Meredith, Isabel and I spent many hours with Elgin and enjoyed every bit of it. You will not be forgotten.

Elgin will be missed. He was definitely a true gentleman. I loved his Sunday morning saxophone playing. He was a good sport by allowing me to dress him up for Halloween, or giving him a kiss on the cheek with lipstick on before going to visit Eleanor, just so she could get a reaction out if her, , and he would come back laughing and telling me all about her reaction every time! ! My deepest condolences to Eleanor, Joe and Ruth!.

Dearest Elgin,
We will miss seeing you in St. George’s, always just two rows behind our family. You were a wonderful decent man who always knew me when I came home, even though I wasn’t around anymore. Rest In Peace Elgin

In memory of a true gentleman, Elgin was the eptimone of that, he was a gentle soul who wanted the best for everyone and was never afraid to try. He loved music and listening to him play his saxophone was truly amazing. Elgin loved people, to talk about farming and the best when he would give his little laugh at something humourous. I felt truly blessed to have been given the opportunity to care for Elgin during his time at Countryside Manor he was an inspiration to us all and such a pleasure. Elgin's extended family Joe and Ruth Palmer were true angels to Elgin and Elgin loved them dearly. I have never met people who were so kind and generous looking for nothing but friendship in return. God Bless you Elgin...play that saxophone loud and clear we are listening!!
