My sincere condolences on the death of Lorraine.
She lived life to the fullest; she knew how to work and to play. Lorraine adeptly combined both, travelling far and wide doing her research. She worked tirelessly for The North Middlesex Historical Society and in researching several family trees. I’d begun to think we’d need to rent a hall larger than the Parkhill Leisure Club, for our family reunions, in order to have space for Lorraine to unroll her ever lengthening Thompson Family Tree Scroll!
Lorraine had many skills and interests and loved life. I enjoyed visiting her lovely garden in summer; I loved seeing her home decorated at Christmas with its myriad Santas.
In short, Lorraine was a wonderful person and a good friend and relative. The world has become a much sadder place without you, Lorraine.
May you rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to Lorraine's family. I met her years ago through the genealogical society and then we discovered that her mother had lived in Copenhagen, Ontario and knew my grandparents! She was always very helpful to me with genealogy, and sharing information and pictures of the McTaggart family in Copenhagen for my historical interest there. She will be missed!

I have many happy memories of visits to both of Lorraine's farms; of day trips we took around Lambton and Middlesex counties and of annual Christmas gatherings at Swiss Chalet with our fellow employees from Weldon Library's Regional History collection. Lorraine and her friend Eleanor were wonderful resources on history and genealogy. I will also miss hearing about Lorraine's adventures on trips with her brother Clare. She was a special individual who cared so much about her family, her friends and her community. Alice Gibb

Condolences to Lorraine’s family. Lorraine was a treasured member of the Lambton County Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society (Ontario Ancestors). She held roles such as publications creation/sales and newsletter editor with her sidekick Eleanor Nielsen. They helped drive the building of the collection of genealogical materials that the Branch has today. I am saddened with the thought that I am not going to be able to discuss all things genealogy with her in the future.

Lorraine welcomed me when I joined the community of West Williams 30 years ago, and always took the time for a chat and to inquire about my family and update me on her latest travels and adventures. I enjoyed working together with her on the West Williams History Book. Lorraine will be greatly missed in the community and I will miss our chance encounters.
